It is my goal as a higher education professional to make knowledge accessible and understandable to students and other professionals.
With that said, I worked very hard to make my dissertation as readable and understandable as possible. I stand by the term SUCCINCT.
I may have one of the shortest, most concise dissertations you may encounter and I am very proud of that. When I started the dissertation process, I was informed that the dissertation needed to be an applied dissertation. An applied dissertation is written to address a research question directed toward the improvement of some area in education. Knowing that the dissertation was meant to be an applied dissertation, I set a goal to craft a paper that was easy to read by anyone working in student success or student services.
It took a lot of time and finesse to cover all the things that needed to be covered while making it as easy to follow as possible. It would have been easier to craft a dissertation with a little more length but I could not allow myself to do that.
With that said, my dissertation is scholarly yet filled with layman terminology. If you work in higher education, or education in general, I hope you read it and take something from it.
Making life simple and easy is a lifelong goal and passion that I will work tirelessly to bring to fruition.
