Feelings....so deep in my feelings!

This time of year is hard for many people. With daylight savings time, the dreary weather, and holidays, feelings can be all over the place. People often have low energy and feel lonely during the fall and winter months. I want to first normalize emotions and feelings and secondly provide tips to overcome those feelings!

It is normal to be moody and emotional from time to time. However, it is important to monitor those moods and take action to adjust them. One way to always be on top of your emotions is to journal. Daily journaling, even if it's just a few sentences, helps with accountability.

I recently watched a TikTok of a young lady stating that she is drinking daily but she feels that she is in control, however, she is not certain that she is. Actions like that can be a warning that you may need additional help. She is aware of her behavior and is working through them, by first making a very public video that thousands of people have viewed and being open. I don’t think everyone has to go to public measures. However, it is important to have open, honest conversations with yourself.

If you notice behavioral change or an emotional change, seek help. Go to counseling/therapy. Do not feel you have to work through it alone. Talk to someone you trust, not just a close friend or family member, but someone that can truly support you during this time.

One other tip is to do small things. Make sure to shower and make your bed daily, Play your favorite song every morning. Get dressed!!!

Earlier this week, it was rainy and cold, I woke up with a headache and I just didnt want to go to work. I told Alexa to play Good Morning Gorgeous and I started my day. I made my bed, Did a quick meditation, smelled one of my favorite candles and got dressed. I live by the motto “when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you do good”. With that said, in my Gucci voice “ I put that shit on.” I put on a lil lipstick, some heels and got myself together. In the car, I played the live version of Happy Feelings by Maze and Frankie Beverly. (sidenote: if you had read all my blogs, you know that is my go to song. I literally listen to it almost everyday.) I recited some affirmations on the way to work. I made it through the day!

There is no cheat code or no easy way to do it, But put in the work and allow yourself grace. Know that you can be OK and you can make it through this season.

If you need some additional goodies, check out the shop. The feelings journal can help you with tracking your daily moods and the Cheer DF Up candle in the Mewd Swings collection does amazing with enhancing your mood. Move DF On is also a great candle for getting through your feelings. Check them out!

As a reminder, Feel Your Feelings, Just Don’t Live in Them!
